Post-Production

Go the film back from the lab yesterday and they said everything seems good with it - bearing in mind though that it's not until a telecine is done that this can really be known - but it seemed okay just from the developing viewpoint
As the film is negative it's hard to make too much from it - but it appears to be clearly focused with a good image on it
We're hunting around now for a good telecine for 250 feet of film - where they're not going to try and make us pay for a whole hour for it!
The composer Dave Lennon - also sent me a preliminary recording of some music to accompany the reading of the poem - and it sounded great - very rich and moody! - he's just going to wait till he's got the final cut of it to work on

To cut a long story short (again!) we got the film telecined at BEEPS for free! - given that it was also a camera test they decided to just run it through for us - thank you to BEEPS for their generosity
The final cut was finished about two weeks ago and the runing time is about 2mins 44 - including credits - it's a short short film!
A very moody and lush score has been done by David Lennon and the final grading is being done this week by David Rusanow - amongst other things that will be done is the shaft of light will be changed to a whitish/blue colour - much like smoke appears in the bush - and the shaft will be composited into one shot where we just couldn't get it because of the air conditioning
The film will be premiering on Wednesday September the 24th as a curtain raiser to In My Image
Since it is such a short film I will look into making it available for viewing over the web as well at some time - and it will be included on the In My Image DVD
Below are some ungraded stills from the actual film - as opposed to the digital stills we took on set which appear above.
